Reflective Piping

Reflective Edging

Reflective piping, also called reflective edging, is a narrow, reflective trim along the seams of an item of clothing. It consists of a strip of fabric folded lengthwise, sometimes with a cord inserted between the layers. Edging is applied when the seam of an item of clothing is being closed, so that the folded edge of the strip is visible from the outside as a small ridge, emphasising the line of the seam.

This is how the reflective, reinforced edges are made – not only for use in workwear and firefighter and police clothing, but also for processing in sports- and leisurewear. They define a person’s outline in low light and darkness, reducing the risk of not being seen until it’s too late.
